Arrlock is a character in Avatar: Age of Kyoshi. He is a healer from the Northern Water Tribe who has established his own clinic in the Middle Ring of Ba Sing Se.
The character is played by Discord user jag#5912.
Appearance[]
A man of medium height and blue eyes. He has brown skin, typical of the Water Tribes, and a scar on his forehead from an accident in his youth. His greying hair is loose and long, though well groomed. He wears an outfit typical of the Water Tribe, with a blue coat and pants, with gloves.
History[]
Born in the north, Arrlock was always the odd one out amongst his pears. He rarely joined with the males' war stories, preferring his mother's folk tales, and was found out to be a bender relatively late in life, compared to his peers. He was a mediocre water bender on his best day, and absolutely terrible most of the time. Arrlock faced lots of teasing for this of course. One day, out of curiosity, he watched a healing lesson from the outside, and when it was finished, decided to try the movements without anyone looking. He wasn't very successful. "You're not going to heal anyone like that" Amka, the chief healer at the time, told him from the outside. She showed him how to do it, thinking he would be bored and give up soon, and to her surprise, and dismay, he picked it up rather quickly. He begged her to teach him more. He finally found a side of bending he was good at! After a long night of being a brat, she conceded. He turned out to be a fast learner and a bit of a prodigal healer, but was told to keep it secret by Amka. Reluctantly, he agreed, keeping his greatest talent a secret. One day, after an accident, a small child fell from a cliff near the training site, and in a moment of panic, the young man bent some water and healed the child, right In front of his pears. At first, no-one really knew how to deal with it. But he was disdained and disrespected, as predicted by Amka. Frustrated, he decided to go visit the sister tribe, and to his delight, it wasn't nearly as misogynistic. He now takes up most of his time in the southern tribe, though he does travel around a lot, helping people whenever he can.
Personality[]
Arrlock is a compassionate, kind and humble old man. He is rarely the one to judge by appearance or first impression, and believes strongly in second chances. He is very sceptical of traditions as a whole, and does not consider the "it's tradition" a valid excuse. This makes him the type of person to try to fix something even when it doesn't need fixing. He can also be too passive much of the time, but will take quick, decisive action when need be. He has a very cool temper, and is not one to be angered easily.
