Magistrate Aidan was a Fire Nation nobleman from the village of Hira'a. Aidan was the husband of Serafina, the son-in-law of Avatar Roku and Melody, the father of Ozai, and grandfather of Zuko, Azula, Maya, and Melody ll. Aidan and his wife, Serafina, worked in her family greenhouse, where they raised Ozai and Sera passed her knowledge of plants and medicine down to their only son, Ozai.
Two years after their son was forced to marry Ursa, his wife was murdered by Bellatrix, Ursa's most trusted guard and closest friend, using an untraceable poison made from nightshade and belladonna extract. Aidan followed his wife in death a year later from a broken heart and illness.
History[]
When Aidan was in his twenties, not long after becoming a governor of Hira'a, he met Sera, the daughter of Roku and Melody, and it was love at first sight. They subsequently settled down in the village in Sera's family greenhouse and had one son together, Ozai. When Ozai was twenty-one years old, Fire Lord Azulon approached the couple with Princess Ursa in tow. The Fire Sages had prophesied that a powerful bloodline would result from the marriage between his daughter and a descendant of Avatar Roku, namely Ozai, and Azulon wished to bring this prediction to fulfillment.
To ensure their son's protection, neither Aidan nor Sera revealed that he was the Avatar. While he was entertaining his guests in the family's greenhouse, Sera was inside the main house, crying over the Crown Prince headpiece that she had inherited from her deceased father. When Ozai came home with the news of a job offer at a local orphanage, his wife told him to go to him and his guests in the greenhouse, but emphasized to her son that she and his father loved him.
Serafina and her husband later died three years after their son married Ursa, and having received no form of communication from him, never heard from their son again or got to meet their grandchildren.
