Plot[]
Set 75 years after the invasion of Republic City by the Earth Empire, A New Republic takes place in the middle of a Cold War between the United Republic of Nations, situated in the western reaches of what was once the Earth Kingdom, and the Earth Empire in the east. Though the war ended long ago with the release of Kuvira in exchange for United Republic and Air Acolyte prisoners, peace between the two nations has been uneasy. Though Avatar Korra was untrusting of the Earth Empire, she reluctantly agreed to the terms of the treaty on the grounds that the citizens of the Earth Empire be treated with equality and respect.
However, after the Avatar's death, the Earth Empire has hid from the eyes of the outside world, hoping that the next Avatar would be found within their boulders. While rumors of the Avatar being born in either of the nations has made the round for years, no official announcement has been made.
Now, 16 years after the death of Avatar Korra, the new cadets of the United Republic Military Academy unknowingly train along alongside the new Avatar, Torin!
