41st Earth King Ta Po is the current Earth King, the ruler of the whole entire Earth Kingdom, ruling from the capital city of Ba Sing Se. He is a minor character in the fanon Avatar: The Legendary Ku Tei, and Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan. 41st Earth King Ta Po is assassinated by Taofan, and Haoke, they slit hit throat while he was sleeping. And is eventually succeeded by his grandson who becomes the 42nd Earth King.
History[]
Thirty Year War[]
Ta Po was crowned in 742 BG, six years into the Thirty Year War. Four years into his reign in 738 BG, his son crowned prince Chung-po was assassinated by Northern assassins. Ta Po believes his son's assassination was linked to the North discovering the evidence of Akitla's assassination.
His grandson and new heir Qiang Zhen was sent to the Fire Nation where he would be raised until the Thirty Year War ends. During this time he has unified the Kingdoms as one to fight the unified Tribesmen. A ceasefire that would soon fall in the Wulong province when the Oma Kingdom pulled their forces before the battle of the Wulong Forest.
Several years led to their failures of losing provinces to the Tribesmen, an investigations went out to find the traitor but reported back with nothing. Until Ku Tei found Senlin in Aupaluk with Chief Nanuq and Chief Aput.
Senlin the Traitor[]
Avatar Ku Tei was sent to notify the tribal chiefs of the Water Tribes, to join Ta Po and Gao Zu at the summit in the Baiyan Air Temple. Which entailed all four leaders to agree to have a peace treaty signed for a ceasefire to allow the Avatar to kill the traitor general. Whilst they also open trade routes with the North in an attempt to end the war. Which later Aput joined soon after the summit happened.
When Senlin was confronted by Ku Tei at a war room meeting Ta Po was given the scroll with investigations that led to Senlin as the alleged assassin of his mentor Laojiang. Ta Po ordered for Senlin to be arrested but he ran away and hid for a year before he was tricked into leading a battalion of men to Taiyuan. Ku Tei appeared and defeated Senlin, but instead of killing him he had him arrested. The ceasefire continued soon after Senlin's imprisonment which also led to a rebellion of Northern soldiers led by Palartok.
Assassination[]
Ta Po was assassinated the day former General Senlin, had escaped from prison. When night came Senlin, and his new ally Haoke snuck into the palace, and the old woman killed the Earth King with a dagger, by slicing his throat open.
The next morning the jailor went to cells where Senlin was held, and discovered his cell door was destroyed. The jailor notified the guards, and the prison went on high alert.
The Earth King's advisor went to wake up the Earth King, and noticed the guards guarding the door, were dead on the floor, he rushed into the Earth King's chambers, and found the Earth King's body, with a large wound on his neck, and his blankets stained red.
The city went a high alert, and the gangs in the Lower Ring, laid low for six months. But Senlin was long gone, in the Earth Kingdom General Senlin was titled, Earth Kingdom's #1 Wanted Criminal, and rewarded an immense large prize for his capture. Hours later after the Earth King's death, Ta Po's grandson was crowned the new Earth King.
Abilities[]
Born an earthbender and taught by his father's advisor, Ta Po mastered earthbending at the age of 28. Throughout, the years Ta Po grew to be a powerful earthbender. Even at an old age he still held up to his reputation.
