'Tis the Season is a series of 25 one-shots leading up to Christmas. The prompts were given out in 2012 for that year's holiday season, and as I was unable to find a Tokka-centric or updated version of it, that is the one I am using. The prompts will be uploaded every day, and will follow a somewhat canonical storyline; they will be related to each other somewhat, mostly as a way to show a developing bond between the two main characters. At least, that's the plan. I will also keep this page updated as to the stories I have written. Please bear in mind that it doesn't necessarily mean they are edited, though. My usual beta, a.fictional.love, is not reading over these before I publish.
Plot[]
Toph has never experienced a Christmas—heck, she didn't even realise such a holiday existed! Sokka, being the generous person that he is, has decided to take her under his wing and teach her what the season is all about—hope, giving, sharing, and above all, love. Will he succeed, or will Toph, in her usual fashion, brush aside all attempts at something a little less brusque, and let herself be a little more soft?

Okay, I love Christmas—I celebrate it. Beginning to write this in mid-November, my mother already has an iPod dedicated to Christmas music. But, I celebrate the holiday as just that—a holiday. Nothing more, nothing less. Thus, there will be some differences to this Christmas to try and 'Avatar-ise' it, and to keep it sort of neutral on the whole 'religion' deal that humans have going on. Not saying I hate/dislike any particular religion, but I don't follow any (aside from whatever morality my society has decided I'll grow up with, namely Christianity). This fanon is just a bit of fun, and while I don't think I'll offend anyone with the changing of speculative historic events, there's always someone, so I thought I'd pop this note up here anyway.
Characters[]
Toph and Sokka are the primary characters, although there will likely be mentions and appearances made by Katara and Aang. It is unknown whether any of the other members of 'Team Avatar' will be included.
Toph is 15 in this series. I have chosen this age because it is at a time where, canonically, everything has settled down. Yu Dao is peaceful and the creation of the United Republic has begun. Zuko, while still stressing about his job, is at peace because his mother has been found.
Similarly, Sokka is 18. Another reason for placing this fanon where I did was due to the ambiguity surrounding his relationship with Suki. I am taking advantage of that, and perhaps some of the post-break-up attitude will be seen.
