Derek has one sister, Arianna, and three brothers: Darion, Dion, and Dante, the latter of whom voiced Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Iroh in The Legend of Korra. He is married to Emily Cho and has a daughter with her called Ella Jay Basco.
