Book One: Water (水) is the title of the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The title refers to the Avatar Cycle: water, earth, fire, and air. The story of Aang learning waterbending is primarily focused on during this season.
The season began on February 21, 2005, with the airing of "The Boy in the Iceberg", and ended at twenty episodes on December 2 of that year, with "The Siege of the North, Part 1" and "The Siege of the North, Part 2", both episodes aired on the same date. Book Two: Earth (the second season) is its sequel.

The episodes were released on five DVDs with four episodes to a DVD, and then a box set containing all twenty episodes of the season. The DVDs were released throughout the year 2006. A Collector's edition containing extra bonus features was released on June 22, 2010.
