Earthbender Earth Kingdom emblem

Boin was an earthbender who was a devoted disciple of the Earth Sages, serving on a mission to educate people across the world about the importance of the order in the wake of the Night of Silenced Sages.[1]

History[]

Born in Omashu, Boin was a devoted disciple of the Earth Sages, and set out on a mission to educate people across the world about them after they were purged by Earth King Jialun.[1]

While on a pilgrimage to the Eastern Air Temple, Boin met a young nun called Nyanchi. She captured his imagination, while Nyanchi saw a kindred spirit in him and saw an opportunity to see the world and join Boin on his mission.[1][2] Boin promised the Air Nomads that he would take care of Nyanchi, and acted as her guardian.[1]

Eventually, Boin and Nyanchi met up with Ezra and Zeebee, and saved Sister Rioshon from bandits. The group agreed to accompany Rioshon to the Fire Nation Capital for the wedding of Princess Zeisan and Monk Khandro. Rioshon had uncovered a sinister plot to disrupt a pre-wedding symposium planned by Zeisan, but could not act herself as she was being watched by guards. Therefore, she tasked Boin and his allies to warn the princess.[1][3]

Personality[]

Boin was a polite and cautious man. He was always a protector, willing to do anything for those he deemed worthy: primarily the Earth Sages, but also individuals such as Sister Nyanchi.[1]

Abilities[]

A skilled earthbender, Boin was able to bend precise limbs of earth, stone, and rock that could emerge as needed.[1]
