It seemed pretty clear to me that the guide staged the rockslide in order to make himself look heroic.  It was ''scary'' and ''could'' have been genuinely dangerous if there ''hadn't'' been an earthbender present; but it was also easy for him to deflect and a bit too conveniently timed.

On the other hand: [[General Old Iron]] and [[Rock spirit|the crabby crag]] were definitely real.

It seemed pretty clear to me that the guide staged the rockslide in order to make himself look heroic.  It was scary and could have been genuinely dangerous if there hadn't been an earthbender present; but it was also easy for him to deflect and a bit too conveniently timed.

On the other hand: General Old Iron and the crabby crag were definitely real.
