Is this probably not even a little deal, let alone a big deal? Probably. Is this as HoT said, "very trivial"? You betcha. Am I proposing it anyway? Absolutely!

I think we should rename Desna and Eska to "Eska and Desna". Whenever they are referred to as a pair by name, it's always Eska first, and reading aloud "Desna and Eska" doesn't sound right. And as far as the "alphabetical" point is concerned, we already do a similar thing with Lo and Li

I think this forum could be a bigger deal because it sets a precedent. Do we go by alphabetical, age, what sounds good, or use in the show. We use Lo and Li, afaik, because that's always the order spoken in the show.

This is a trivial and in my view unnecessary discussion, but I will happily justify my reasons for why I think it should not be changed:

• In my view, Desna and Eska sounds better, so the argument of one sounding better than another is entirely subjective. This is not, therefore, a reason to rename it.
• It has been mentioned a number of times that the order "Eska and Desna" is always used when they are mentioned, but I can only find one mention of "Eska and Desna" in dialogue, which is in Transcript:Harmonic Convergence (episode). If there are others then I am happy to change this point, but that one example is not indicative of anything.
• The twins thrones in the NWT have Desna on the left and Eska on the right, as can be seen here. Describing them as Desna and Eska is therefore consistent with this ordering.

While I understand wanting a precedent, I do not believe there is any justification in this instance for one choice over the other. Therefore, since we do not rename articles for no reason, the original choice should stay. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 10:34, August 8, 2020 (UTC)

I don't understand why this is an issue or how the change of title will improve the wiki in any way. Sometimes we need to discuss technicalities, but I don't find this relevant enough to get a discussion unless there is a specific and official change that tells us something we didn't know yet. I'm pretty sure there's more than one mention. Again, I never watched Korra all the way through, but I do recall Bolin saying something like "who are the beautiful ladies" and Korra saying something like "that's the chief's son and daughter", presumably adding their names in. I think someone who's watched the show since the original release will remember where this reference is from? I'm just assuming that their names would be mentioned in the introduction for them, could be wrong though. If someone could remember the episode so that the transcript can be checked, that'd be great.

If it is the way mentioned, I think it's worthwhile to quickly changed the page name. The fact that it's a technicality should not detract from the wiki's objective of accurately representing the source material. Further to what HoT said:

• I agree about subjectivity of the name - I think 'Desna and Eska' actually sounds better, but that's entirely subjective and should not be considered at all in this discussion, imo.
• In 'Harmonic Convergence' episode, proposed order is used twice (imo, these are more than similar enough to count).
  • Tonraq: "You're still Eska and Desna's father"
  • Korra: "Eska, Desna, listen to me."
• Yeah, I don't really know if the order of their thrones indicates anything one way or the other. At least for me, that could be extrapolated pretty extensively to include their positioning at any time, considering they operate as a duo. I don't think this is a real factor for either point of view, imo.

So considering the on-screen dialogue is indicating a certain order, at minimum 2-3 times and potentially more (possibly not, I don't think anyone wants to comb through the transcripts), I would advocate for changing it. Effectively the current version is just our arbitrary order that is inconsistent with Lo and Li (to my memory, their names are also not said often), and I think it's perfectly reasonable to quickly rename the page and fix associated links, as well as for consistency in the transcript articles, which continuously alternate between 'Desna and Eska' and 'Eska and Desna', and that's only looking at the Harmonic Convergence transcript.
