The untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender reimagining is an upcoming series produced by Netflix in partnership with Nickelodeon, aiming to retell the story of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a live action format. Both Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are returning to helm this adaptation, noting that they were "thrilled [...] to realize Aang's world as cinematically as [they] always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast".[2] Production is scheduled to begin in 2019,[3] with the show slated to air in 2020.[4]
