The untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender reboot is a new show produced by Netflix in partnership with Nickelodeon, and is aiming to retell the story of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a live action format with CGI animation. Both Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are returning as they helm this adaptation, as they were "thrilled [...] to realize Aang's world as cinematically as [they] always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast".[2] Production is scheduled to begin in 2019.[3]
