Avatar: The Last Airbender: My Cabbages! is a children's book written by Rebecca Gyllenhaal and Jessica Yang, and illustrated by Bonnie Pang. The story covers the cabbage merchant's misadventures in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It will be released on August 27, 2024.[1]

  • The cabbage merchant's real name is revealed to be "Cai". If he shares the same last name as his son Lau Gan-Lan, That would make his name "Cai Gan-Lan", a play on "gan-lan cai", the name of a vegetable dish.
  • The cabbage merchant is revealed to have been born in Gaoling to a line of cabbage farmers. Furthermore, he is married and has two children, a daughter and a son (Lau Gan-Lan).


  • Unlike previous Avatar picture books, My Cabbages features a unique story.
