History[]

As a lieutenant of Jargala Omo, Amrita performed well as a mobster in the Creeping Crystal Triad. However, her real dream was always to leave her life of crime and break into the mover industry as a director. Amrita had been enamored with movers since the first one she saw, and she started looking for a way in, however she could get there.[2][3]

When the triad gave a loan to Hongmei to start his own mover company, Amrita kept an eye on him as a source for more "fruitful" business endeavors.[1] However, Hongmei did all he could to cut ties and keep Amrita out, which she took personally.[3]

Despite her continued efforts, Amrita had not been able to push her way in to control any mover company. Those that would accept her overtures of aid were too small or unimportant to satisfy her ambitions, and those that were both successful and big were not willing to shackle themselves to the Creeping Crystal Triad and Amrita. Varrimovers International ended up being in just the right position for Amrita, as while it had major clout as a studio, it ended up having serious budgetary problems. Because of his prior history with the triad, and the desperate state of affairs at the mover company, Hongmei was Amrita's best chance to get everything she wanted and had promised to Jargala.

However, the triad's leader was tired of Amrita and her mover obsession. Jargala ordered Amrita to come back with something real and profitable within a month, or she would move the lieutenant to a different district and see if the Creeping Crystal Triad could muscle in on something more lucrative, like the waste disposal industry. After Jargala's ultimatum, Amrita met with Hongmei as the studio prepared for its new big, flashy mover, Sengo: Lady of the Winds. Amrita made it clear to him that he would be accepting Creeping Crystal yuan in exchange for a percentage of the mover's success, in order to satisfy Jargala. Amrita also demanded that she become an executive producer at Varrimovers International to satisfy her own ambitions. Hongmei refused these terms, but Amrita was ready for this. Knowing that the mover company was in a desperate position and that the scheduled premiere was the last shot at making Sengo a success. She therefore thought that she just had to put enough pressure on the executive to make him think that he wouldn't finish the mover in time, as she was absolutely sure he would break.

Amrita had her underlings begin to terrorize the set of the mover. At first, the disruptions were small, as Amrita only wanted to put pressure on Hongmei instead of entirely derailing the production. The triad used the undercity tunnels to get to a position beneath the studio where they could earthbend to affect the building above. The triad created tremors that only occurred when the cameras were shooting, messing up the film and ruining the shots. Amrita also got a sandbender to let dust cling to matte paintings as they were drying, ruining enough that the artists had to start again from scratch.

Hongmei refused to give in, and the crew were diligent and capable enough to move the mover forward. Amrita chose to escalate her disruptions, seeing no other way to force the executive to accept her terms. The tremors started getting dangerous, as they were strong enough to knock sets onto cast members in the middle of shooting, and they also laid patches of sharpened crystal that jutted up from the ground and floor, hidden under other objects, ready for someone to stumble onto. The triad also damaged the warehouse itself, requiring repairs to make it safe before they could resume filming.

Still, Hongmei persisted in refusing Amrita's intimidation, as production was so close to wrapping. Amrita ended up angry and frustrated, determined not to let Hongmei deny her what she wanted so badly. She was ready to take her assaults on the production to a new level, actively trying to destroy it and hurt its cast and crew, even up to launching an all-out attack upon it and forcing Hongmei to accept her demands. She was even willing to let her attack destroy the production of Sengo, as she thought she could then get Hongmei to hand over all control of Varrimovers International to her, and then rebuild it from the ground up with Creeping Crystal money, as she thought that Jargala would have to accept an opportunity to own such a famous mover studio.[2]

Amrita also used Creeping Crystal cash to use the cast and crew to her benefit. With the greedy director, Wing Len, wanting to earn more, and being unable to make money off casting aristocrats in the mover, he accepted Amrita's offer of money in exchange for slowing down the mover and putting more pressure on Hongmei. She also turned to actor Quin Yu, who played the mover's villain, and was both deep in debt and always wanting more money to maintain his lavish lifestyle. Amrita got the actor to sell her updates on the production in exchange for Creeping Crystal cash.[4]

The triad's disruptions eventually alerted the attention of others in the studio, and Bolin called in a favor to get Erdene, Qacha, Thi, Meeka, and Dae to come and act as a new security team. The five arrived just as the Creeping Crystal Triad launched a round of sabotage as an intense film was being filmed between the mover's hero and villain. Their tremor caused Quin Yu's suspension harness to toss him about, causing the controlled tubing at his ankles to spray flames everywhere. This caused saber-tooth moose lion animal actor, Sweetie, to buck and toss the lead actress, Xue, into the air.[5] Things were getting particularly tense for Amrita, as she only had a few days to meet Jargala's deadline, and her boss made it clear that the lieutenant couldn't ask for any more Creeping Crystal resources.[2][3]
