<p>Quite obviously, as they agreed to, they are going to have a vacation in the Spirit World, and come back once they've had enough time not having to worry about anything or do their worldly duties - so no, they are not dead or any of those other ridiculous suggestions - they are just fine, and may or not be together. </p>

<p>I am one of the people who never discussed anything about Korra on any forums, so I knew nothings about all the various shippings, nor how long people have been pushing the Korrasami, nor had any particular shipping I really supported - I just wanted X to be with whoever the series wanted me to want them to be with, at the time. </p><p>But as you and many others have said, the small, subtle, occasional, physical hints when Korra and Asami actually got to speak to each other alone, were enough to stop the ending from seeming completely random or being too surprising. </p><p>When they held hands and gazed at each other,it made me remember all those moments where there were hints and it was just really nice and plain sweet. </p>

<p>As someone else said (sorry I can't remember whom) - he was suddenly kissed by a girl he was very attracted to, was very surprised, and due to being a surprised male teenager being kissed by a girl he had only recently met and was very attracted to, "decided" (I put that in quotation marks because he did it without actually thinking about it - like if someone went to punch you, you would attempt to dodge without thinking about it whatsoever) to accept the kiss, rather than breaking it off as he rationally and morally should have. </p><p>Now, I know the last few words there seem to contradict what I've been saying so far, and that's because they do. </p><p>I am standing up for Mako, and saying he didn't cheat because he didn't actively decide to do anything with Korra, <i>and</i> because afterwards he didn't start going out with or doing anything else with Korra; <i>however</i> I do completely acknowledge and understand the reasons you think he is in the wrong - he should have broken off the kiss because he was going out with Asami. </p><p>But, as I've said, he was just too surprised and attracted to Korra to be able to stop his body making him do exactly what he quite naturally wanted to do in that situation. </p><p>P.s Yes, I would have done the exact same in his situation - except that I would have just told my Asami. </p>

<p>Everyone hugs their friends and shakes their friends, but I don't think many people affectionately hold their hands and gaze into their eyes before going on a holiday together...without even planning to do so. </p>

<p>To be honest, I disliked "Korrasami", for various reasons (I'm not homophobic though). Although "Korrasami" hasn't been confirmed, it was just "teased" as you said, the ending strongly hinted that they do have feelings for each other indeed. Either that or they're just very, very close friends. If they really do have feelings for each other, I'd be rather disappointed. But the series is over, so it's not that important. And it's just my opinion. </p><p>I dislike "shipping" in general anyway. </p> </div> <p>First, I want to say that I am also not a fan of shipping. Then I want to say this: </p><p>The Legend of Korra made me want Korra to be with Mako when it wanted me to, it made me want Bolin to be with Eska, it made me want Mako to be with Asami, and so on. </p><p>Also, I must admit that there were a few moments were Korra and Asami were talking that there were - at least what felt like - subtle hints that they might like each other. </p><p>I honestly expected Korra and Mako to get back together at the end, and I was quite disappointed when they didn't, because despite Mako and Asami still being something that might happen, it meant that Korra wouldn't have anyone. </p><p>And then, literally in the last minute, they dropped a brilliant bombshell on us. </p><p>I was incredibly surprised by the ending, and I was even more surprised that they ended it like that rather than with all of them going to the Spirit World and/or showing us what happened to the rest of the world in the aftermath of Kuvira's defeat, in a similar fashion to how The Legend of Aang ended. </p><p>But despite all that, I really liked it. Like many others above me have said, if it were <i>any</i> male that Korra had interacted with like that, no one would be questioning it. They would all simply be surprised, then accept it as canon. </p><p>And I know I've said it already, but just so you everyone remembers that I really am impartial when it comes to all of this - and I only wanted her to be with Mako because he was the only one the show directly showed us that she liked - I am not in any way a shipper. But I was extremely happy with the ending, and completely convinced by it. </p><p>In conclusion: everyone, stop arguing. There is nothing wrong with the ending, morally, logically, nor romantically: it was a sweet, peaceful ending to a wonderful series. </p><p>Edit: Although, thinking about it, I'm quite disappointed with the ending, because there's a lot of things that could, and really, should have been shown and quite a few questions left unanswered. But still, overall, I am very happy with this - and clearly that is all that matters, lol. </p>
