Ik i dont have to agree i was just explaining some of your points i found flawed. sorry if i came off as rude! you didnt offend me at all, we all have opinions here. again i respect yours. sorry if i appeared offended, i am not at all lol.
and id argue Iroh DOES have flaws. while he tried to help Zuko in his journey he didnt always handle it the best way. Team Avatar also didnt love him instantly either; in the season 2 finale they cautious about trusting him and only did after Toph said hes cool.
I agree about character development, but I see Iroh's purpose as having already achieved his growth, making him the wise figure he is. Iroh shows that if he can change, so can Zuko. you are free to disagree however. its valid if hes your most disliked. this is fiction after all. your frustration makes sense when u see a character you strongly disliked the most beloved and hyped. thats valid.
Iroh had plenty of flaws, he was a war criminalA siege is not a war crime. a siege is a bad thing tho, he deserves to be criticized for it, and that can cause starvation (which it then would be a war crime), but we lack enough details to know what happened during his siege. still, it got many people killed, including Lu Ten, and so yes, its bad.
Iroh isnt a Gray Stu. of course he mastered firebending, look how old he is, and hes royalty. think hes gonna be not skilled? and he was a war general in a story about war. having a tragic past like death of his son is....realistic. and hes not the only character with this backstory. Aang lost his entire people and culture.
The story expects you to be upset because Zuko betraying Iroh is not a good thing for him. he wasnt "moving on" at all. if he moved on, he wouldve helped Iroh, but because he still wanted Ozai's love and approval, he chose Azula. Zuko's arc is about growing out of that want. Iroh was helping him move on. and to say Iroh redeemed Zuko is WRONG and misses the whole point of Zuko's character arc. it insults it, even.
Everyone likes Iroh because of his personality. thats the whole point. people wont hate someone who is likable. To say NO ONE learns from his wisdom is objectively wrong. i havent watched the show in a long time, but at the top of my head, it was his talk with Toph that had her return to Team Avatar in "The Chase".
I respect you dislike him but your points i can never agree with.
ATLA world: "I laugh at science all the time. Hahaha, science..."
It's the funniest moment in the series imo

I mean I do but it's very rare I see someone say something positive abt that film and be serious, let alone call the original animated series disrespectful to it. Edit: I'm aware this is still a joke lol.
For a moment I was worried but I realized this is a joke lol
Literally the only episode i rewatch sometimes when I'm bored (Zuko Alone). Tbh I usually rewatch the whole series, but ZA doesn't require that cuz it's that good... I don't wanna wait to get to it lol.

The title made me die inside a little
I always imagined it as agonizing. The way Hama used it on Katara the first time made me cringe. Having your blood be controlled by some outside force, feeling it move wrongly under your skin... makes me recoil.
i feel the same way. dont like Maiko, i dont think they fit well together at all. i also liked his short-lasting bond with Jin, it was my favorite part in "The Tales of Ba Sing Se".
