Can we all take a hot second to appreciate this wikifandom’s awesomeness <3
Happy trans visibility day!!!
BUT ON A SIDE NOTE: this is one of my favourite scenes in the entire avatar universe and i wanted to share:
I don’t understand i thought everyone would vote boleska bc it’s literally an abusive relationship turned into a joke i-

Ummmmmm- actually i have no idea where the 39 came from. wait yes i do. i did this math the other month idk- basically there was a big ole war in the avatar universe. i’m legend of genii it’s said she dies fighting to defend ba sing se. i don’t personally agree or like that imo. so if korra is 20-23 in book four (i’m too lazy to actually do the math rn) and the war- which i’m assuming happens in the 40’s—— correct me if i’m wrong but that would make korra in her 30’s or 40’s.
In the legend of genii it’s said korra dies young. again i don’t like that at all, but that’s what the people who are creating legend of genji said :/
Then again log isn’t canonical and it’s all just purely headcanonical[ so i have no idea you guys. all i know is i did math a while ago and it added up to 39 or smthn idk don’t come for me
Also airbending would be waaaaay op. the airbender bend AIR- not physical stuff not plasma like the other benders. airbender s would literally sweep the other benders off their feet and just annihilate the other players with a flick of their hand. it just wouldn’t be fair at all. you can defend against dirt and rocks and fire and water but you can’t defend very well against air. airbenders have a major advantage in that they bend literally the world around you as you move.
Yes but aang was frozen in the iceberg as an avatar for 100 years too. some died young bc of being killed remember too/ korra died at age 39 or something bc of avatar universe’s wwII
Agreed
In season 3:1 we can see them in the famously gay car scene (which is basically the closest korra and asami have come to a date in the entire series ngl) after mako and korra (thankfully) break up for the second time at the end of season 2 asami and korra grow closer- not romantically, but definitely platonically. they didn’t get a romantic build up bc of the studio and bc of nick. if you were in love with your best friend. you’d still pop off with them as friends, but you wouldn’t be able to express it bc- what if they rejected you? (my condolences to anyone in love with their friends here) when you finally say- oh i like you. sure it’s out of the blue, but was also very predictable for the reasons that you two has been growing closer as friends and doing stupid stuff and laughing about it together. korra and asamis relationship is kind of that way. you could argue that aang and kataras relationship was uncalled for seeing as the last time they saw each other before they kissed, katara was kind of hostile towards the whole idea. look. i’m not trying to tell you what you should believe or what opinion you should have on this whole issue, but if you know what to look for throughout the series, korrasami doesn’t come as a shock to you. we see korra and asami team up for many many missions in season 3 and 4 (season 4? maybe not so much season 4…). from the whole queen and ba sing se thing to the whole watching her body as she meditates thing (it’s totally platonic)- korra and asami have a lot more moments than people, i think, give them credit to.
The point is. it may come as a surprise the first time you watch the legend of korra, but when you go back and see all the very subtle buildup (think back to the best friend analogy) it makes sense.
You can definitely see it grow over the last seasons imo
@SkrillStryke you also rated season 2 as a 6 and season 4 as a 4.5 which makes no sense either /lh
Ok. As much as i love atla, i have higher respect for Lok and i, in general, just like it better; here is why. (these are all my personal opinions and i’m just pointing them out- don’t come for me 😓)
I really like korra’s trauma story. it’s one that many people seemingly forget when they’re talking about the legend of korra. korra went through crap- from getting her bending taken away, getting the avatar spirit ripped out of her body (whichwasbasicallypartofher soul)- then she got poisoned and paralysed for like- an entire year. then she had to regain her strength little by little. she was humiliated and without her friends and family for 3 years. and she went through ptsd. i get that leaving was her own choice and all- but i just think the whole trauma situation in legend of korra is really really well- executed ig?
Korra’s arc was pretty good. she used to be this headstrong, powerhungry(ish) kid with dreams of grandeur in her eyes. then she grew and matured through all of her experiences and eventually got to the point where she was talking people off bridges and empathising with a tyrannical dictator who had given up hope. i have a meme but i wont share it, but it basically says: we don’t talk about “korra’s good traits enough” and i think their right. the fandom as a whole tends to talk about korra’s screw ups and compare her to aang. i think it’s fine to compare the shows and stuff- but when it comes down to comparing aang and the job he did and his character and his situation to korra’s- im more hesitant to put a word in… to me, these are two totally different people. even tho they’re fictional, it doesn’t seem fair to compare them like they’re two hand drawn unicorns from a drawing contest. anyway i’m just rambling now…
Then ending was rushed and the ending was unexpected and perhaps disturbing for some- for me it was groundbreaking. for me it finally helped me come to terms with myself about my sexuality. and maybe i’m biased because do that- but i don’t think i was the only one who’s wall was finally shattered by the ending.
Ummm- yeah anyway. those are my opinions…
Metalbending is pretty cool…
Kuvira is pretty hot…
The fighting was great-
The only thing i have against the lok is… Season two. i don’t like it. i don’t think many people like it- it just wasn’t good and i’ve never gone back to rewatch it… from makorra to cheating on korra with asami- to unalaaq and the abusive relationship between eska and bolin… (which some people might say is good representation?) season two is not my cup of hot chocolate
The only good part about season two is, of course, the whole avatar wan story. that was pretty cool and the animation in those scenes were awesome
Anyway i’m done- as you were…ladies…
They were both not very good imo 😓
Ok- but korra is a lot smaller
I feel like korra and kyoshi are pretty evenly matched power wise
But korra is a lot smaller and probably a little more agile making it harder to hit her
Plus she can fly
And i don’t think kyoshi can fly or at least i’ve never seen accounts of her flying
Cold
@Mr. Wang Fire We’re not saying iroh couldn’t defeat anyone bc he’s a really powerful dhde
But it’s aang… and he’s literally most powerful dude in the known universe in Atla
And although iroh is wonderful and powerful- there’s no way a grounded iroh would beat our flying boi
The only reason i voted iron was because aang would have too much respect to fight iroh. aang would win but the fight would go on for days
Again i say he’s a better character when he’s not trying to get in everyone’s pants
Why not?
Yeah couldnt unalaaq literally just dump a bunch of water on the lava and harden it? also technically he COULD bloodbend if he wanted to…
