I know. Look, I am Vietnamese, and I have seen little things Avatar has included, but the culture is so heavily influenced by Chinese culture, that that these things are unnoticeable, and people would just think the are "Chinese"! I don't like how they mixed my culture with a culture different then mine, so all these other Non-Asian viewers will think Asian is only Japanese and Chinese. They should change that.
@QisMyName Sorry if it took a while to reply. I just wanted to say that you are aware of the different cultures and how different kingdoms are based on different countries. There are lots of people that are not are aware as you are, and personally mixing cultures is not my style. Non-Asian audience might be unaware of all these cultures being blended together, they people might just assume it is all "Asian". I have also noticed little Korean things in the Earth Kingdom, but the Earth Kingdom is so heavily Chinese influenced that the Korean Culture is just blended in with the Chinese culture. Don't take this wrong, I like the show, but these little things have bothered me.
@Ijimenez19 Please tell my parents these things! You are right! They think Avatar: The Last Airbender is american's trying to say that all these cultures are one! Hopefully I don't get caught on the Avatar wiki.
They did make asian characters good role models though.
One of my favorites.
Yes your right, it is a good show.
Also, mixing up two completely different Asian cultures is a kind of offensive, to my parents at least.
@Blackcheetah11 what I said up there is mostly why my parents hate the show.
@Jynxco , I agree with most of what you said, but I have some problems with Avatar: The last airbender. I am Japanese and the entire show got my angry by mixing all Asian cultures together. Chinese and Japanese cultures are separate. And, making most of the voice actors white? I like this show but these are the two things that bothered me.
