That's a good theory...
I never read the Kyoshi books, but here is why: Toph has seismic sense, so she knows where the enemy is and where to strike. She is also a metalbender. Bumi is also exceptionally skilled, and was able to take down a whole army by himself during the eclipse. So...yeah.

And add Linh Song from KOTLC...it will be a full on water war with Katara, percy, and Linh.
Katara, because she is more experienced at waterbending/hydrokinesis. And also, Riptide won't be any use, because Katara is a mortal. A waterbending mortal, but still a mortal.
