How it’s always the female characters from the water tribe who get the most hate? Specifically the ones who go against the status quo like Katara and Korra. Like yall can just say yall hate badass dark skinned women 🙄
The scariest villain is Zaheer but my favorite villain is Azula
Korra is canonically bisexual. And, fun fact, she’s the first canonically queer lead in a kids show. Wether you ship it or not, you can’t deny that she really helped pave the way for positive and neutral queer representation in kids media

I don’t think we should compare them. They’re both very different shows
@Bastion2.0 bestie she was in 8th grade
I never really got the hate behind this episode. Can someone explain it to me?

Dark feminine 😍
@Kaizon43 well why not? There was buildup. Very little because of censorship, but still buildup
Yes his philosophy is hypocritical that’s the point. He doesn’t actually want to get rid of benders, he just wants control
I’m sure he’s capable, but I don’t believe he has been able to do it
It’s not canon but it’s a pretty common interpretation of her character
Waterbenders don’t always have immediate access to water, and same with earthbenders. There are only 2 airbending masters by the time the show ends. Firebenders however? They’re pretty common and actually create fire themselves. It’s probably just easiest that way
Yes but you have to consider the context at the time. Queer characters in a kiss cartoon had never been done before. They probably wanted it from the beginning (because come on, have you seen their designs?) but Viacom wouldn’t allow it, until finally it was decided that they could hold hands in the last episode.
And besides, relationships take time to develop. Love at first sight just isn’t realistic for some people, and it might not be realistic for Korra. Maybe she needed four seasons to realize she loved Asami
Aang probably did have siblings, but the air nomads were raised communally, so I doubt he would have known who they were. plus the air temples were gender segregated
I mean we’re getting a couple movies including the adult!Gaang and a new show with the Avatar after Korra. We do also have the comics for both Aang and Korra and the ongoing Chronicles novels which right now tell the stories of Kyoshi and Yangchen. The TTRPG is also canon I believe
@Paladin78 there are multiple straight kisses in the franchise. Korra and Asami kissing is no different. Kids are exposed to romance all the time
And I honestly don’t think it was forced. If it had been more allowed to grow, then it would have been better, but alas, Viacom was scared. Nonetheless, Korrasami is an important piece of the puzzle in terms of representation in media
Ty Lee is not an airbender, but she is phenotypically similar to the air nomads. She likely has some air ancestry but the airbenders were highly spiritual in a way that was not retained during the HYW
It just said previous avatars. Perhaps they were all early enough that Aang had no connection to them?
