<p>If they let Toph get defeated, I will lose so much faith in the show. Maybe idealism or dumb hope but Toph is a master, and a good chunk of the time unstoppable. If they end up bringing the Big Three into the battle only to be defeated, I will not be happy. To have mastered bending at a young age and able to hone their skills even more over their lifetime to only be defeated in the final battle would be a horrible way to end the season. </p><p>In contrast, I can honestly see a parellel to the first season where multiple groups attacked from multiple sides. I think the Big Three could come in and dessimate the army while Korra takes on Kuvira head-on.  </p>

<p>It's not just air against solid rock, it's the very power of flight. Bombs, air raids, flying over the wall of Ba Sing Se. In every situation they would have the high ground and it has been shown in the past they have some serious power. </p><p>As for lightning, it's not "cloudbending," its the separation of charge. The same thing can actually be done with water. When charges separate there is an imbalance and lightning happens as a way of rebalancing the charges. This is the very same thing that happens when a firebender does it.  </p><p>Then there's hurricanes requiring coordination. Earthquakes would require tremendous coordination because rocks are very stubborn, but it would be possibe. Air, on the opposite side of the spectrum, is a fluid. Imagining a line of airbenders in a circle, "handing" air to the person on their left. Before you know it, you have an air current and soon a spiral on your hands. As the airbenders kept passing the reaction would only be exacerbated. The same thing would occur with water (Serpents Pass) and a similar effect could be achieved. Add some dense clouds, you have yourself a storm.  </p>

<p>Kuvira is smart, agile, and an absolute bending master. Korra has had one recurring problem throughout the entire series, she doesn't know when to take the defensive stance. She is too agressive and lets that take over when she needs to take a step back. Kuvira, as previously said by many other commenters, is a master manipulator. She had an ARMY behind Korra, even if she said she would make it a fair fight, that is going to make you feel helpless. She tore her down, and Korra got angry and attacked. Kuvira took a sloppy, unprepared, broken down Avatar and let her tire herself out before beating the living crap out of her.  </p><p>Korra is also a very weak Avatar. We have all seen what the Avatar State can do when used properly (if you really need a reminder, watch the season finale of the first series). Korra isn't a very good bender because she is agressive and acts before she thinks. I don't want to bash her but she needs to get rid of her hot-headedness or she will lose over...and over...and over again.  </p>

<p>You can't boil blood by creating less pressure because the body is a contained environment. You could boil the saliva on someone's tongue but that's about it. </p><p>As for all the other stuff, airbending has the potential to be a horrific element to control.  </p><p>You could cause someone's lung to collapse, or as we've seen with Zaheer, cause someone to stop breathing entirely. You could force all of the gasses dissolved in someone's blood to bubble out, which is known as "the bends" in scuba diving terms; in this same topic, you could control the gasses WITHIN someone's blood as an alternate form of Bloodbending. </p><p>Sound is just vibrations traveling through a medium, it has nothing to do with air or anything really. Any bender could make a sound, say if an earthbender made sound through the ground it could also be transferred through the air and have the same effect if an airbender did it. Nothing special. </p><p>Another thing is static electricity. Through friction and the separation of ionic charge in the atomosphere and the ground, lightning is formed. This means that through this same method, an airbender could bend lightning at a magnitude unheard of, vastly more powerful than that of a measly firebender can do. </p><p>As for an airbending army? Hurricanes, storms, tornados, etc..... </p><p>If airbenders were the antagonists in The Last Airbender, the war would have been over in a decade.  </p>
