@Kassilon The Earth Kingdom went from a monarchy to a democracy. Shouldn't that realistically cause a bunch of internal issues that could escalate into international issues over whether or not the other nations should get involved or not and to what degree?
I haven't seen any canon source or statement from the writers that there was ever going to be a kiss involved. And hand-holding is rarely interpreted as platonic in the western world.
I didn't say they intended them to break up. I said they intended them to go on a date and leave it ambiguous. The point is that that two people of the same sex were acknowledging romantic feelings for each other, not declaring love.
They did not kiss right after. They kissed for the first time when they were about to go back to the physical world.
There was never any kiss indicated. The hand-holding only indicates romantic feelings, not declaration of love.
IcaKalorra You're missing the point. The point was not that they were in love, the point was that they have romantic feelings for each other. That's why they end the series by going on a date, not declaring they're in love with each other. They do that in the comics.
The show already gave hints that Korra and Asami had romantic feelings for each other. So it's not so much of a revelation as it was a confirmation.
Who cares? It's not even canon anyway.
