So, I was playing Skyrim again (as if I ever truly stop) after I happened to notice this very thread popping up again over the past couple days.

In the game, I ran across a fairly difficult enemy type (at least, for the early stages of the game), which is the troll. It decended upon my "Spellblade" type character (uses swords and magic as the name implies, think Red Mage if you're into Final Fantasy) while I was just finishing up a somewhat protracted, but still engaging battle with some other challenging adversaries.

I swung and swung and swung against the creature while I was recharging my magicka from the aforementioned previous encounter. He just kept regenerating his health faster than I could bring it down. Meanwhile, our clashes were wearing me down, due to heavy swings and running circles trying to better position. My endurance was pushed to the brink, it was clearly not sustainable.

Just as things were looking grim, I amassed enough magicka for a concentrated Flame spell. I let loose. Fire spewed forth from my avatar. Flames danced and spread, engulfing the foul creature. At that moment, my strategy all fell into place, as such an ability capitalizes on the trolls' inherent weakness and knocked out this one's regenerative powers temporarily. Finally, in the wake of my flame technique, I delivered the coup de grace with a powerful blow that struck right to the heart of the beast.

Lifeless, the husk of my foe fell to the ground with a thud. He was dead.

Pleased with myself over the hard earned victory, I collected my spoils (troll fat!). I then looked for a good spot to rest. While taking my respite, I reflected on my recent conquest, in so doing, one truth was reaffirmed to me;

Skyrim is a fantasy game. Only there can one beat a troll over the head repeatedly, flame it, and then be rid of it for good.

(...On the other hand, necromancy does exist there too. Hmm...I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.)
