I dont want post-Korra avatar, so much of the series' appeal is in its feudal chinese setting, imagery and spirituality. Cyberpunk would ruin that. Personally I'd love something with Roku, Kyoshi, Yangchen or that firebending avatar that invented lavabending (also a good earthbender!). Or something that didnt follow an avatar at all; eg fire nation royal family (adult zuko).

LoK isn't feudal to begin with. And the idea that modern/futuristic settings are automatically western is an ethnocentric notion.
I get the feeling you dont understand what ethnocentrism is. Ethnocentrism is judging another culture by applying your cultures morals. for example if I said the romans were horrible because they married boys and girls at 13. They werent horrible they just had shorter lifespans so they had to 'accelerate' their lifestyles.

I beleive the word you are looking for is 'racist'. and I wasnt being racist.

Cyberpunk is automatically western, thats not me being racist,, its a futuristic setting of the globalised generic and uncultured american world that most countries seem to be heading towards.

First of all: don't try to condescend to me.

Secondly: attributing a specific genre exclusively to a specific culture or cultures—that is, giving that culture all credit for it—is ethnocentric, or at least culturally chauvinistic. You are giving western culture, and the U.S. in particular, all credit for the greater concept of cyberpunk. (Or, in light of your seeming disdain for cyberpunk, blame. Which just makes it fit even the too-narrow definition you've given of ethnocentrism.)

Im not trying to condescend anyone, just defending myself against unprovoked accusations of racism or cultural chauvinism. My definition of ethnocentrism is the standard one as defined by wikipedia, dictionaries etc. And there is nothing wrong with giving different cultures credit for genres; its not racist, because different genres are born from different cultures (Eg: african americans pioneered jazz and rock, China pioneered martial arts films) thats what leads to the diversity in the arts we see today.

Blade Runner, Matrix 12 monkeys and Terminator are all cyberpunk movies which I love, but I dont think cyberpunk would suit the spiritual nature of avatar.

Hey, you were the one using the word "racism." And pinning up cyberpunk as an exclusively western, much less American, conceit is culturally chauvinistic—and thus, a product of ethnocentrism. Especially after RaidenRadio gave two counter-examples.

And just because that's what Wikipedia—which anyone can edit—says doesn't mean your given definition ain't narrow. As for dictionaries: they'll tell you
carrots are orange.

Cultural chauvinism is a synonym for racism. And it was your alegation at me. Ive always felt that being called racist is a very serious accusation and should be reserved for actual offences so the word (and its synonyms) doesnt lose its power. Wikipedia is the most complete source of information the world has ever seen and is incredibly acurate despite being edited by everyone (just like avatar wikia is accurate and can be edited by anyone). Carrots are orange. they werent always, but they are now.
