I still find it odd they can bend mercury but not platinum :| i mean mercury is a pretty pure metal as well. infact in it's liquid form it's pretty much pure elemental mercury right?

Amon was just power hungry the Red Lotus really just wanted to take out Korra and the world leaders. chaos sure but Vatoo wanted to screw the world over with darkness if not universe!!! he was the biggest threat.

probably already mentioned... but think about this 
ALL airbenders can fly with a little training and a glider. now Zaheer just somehow figured out how to fly without said glider. probably a similar technique Storm from the Xmen and just an advanced form of mental micro air control. notice how the tornado took the wind from his proverbial sails,

well she was electricuted, left in a pool of water "possibly drowned" and then had a mountains worth of lava crash down on her from the cavern above. if she did survive i'm calling shenanigans. ghazan could have survived, but i think his mind wsa to out of whack at that last momment to save himself trying to take out mako and bolin

Is this really Mercury?

isn't Mercury a fairy pure element? wouldn't it fall under the same idea as platimum? the stuff isn't refined afterall unlike iron so there are no tiny particles of earth in it, if there was wouldn't the mercury just fall away from them if someone attempted to bend it?
