<p>Whatever it is, I wouldn't want to see a series on a character we already know.  One of the maor things that make the Avatar series good is the character/story development.  If there was a series on Wan, well, we already know how he became the Avatar and that he spent the rest of his life trying to stop wars.  Anything more would kind of feel redundant.  Same with anything about Yangchen, Kyoshi, the Red Lotis, the Gaang in their later years, etc.  They are all great characters and I would love to see more of them, but not a whole series.  That's what comics and 2 hour specials are for.   </p>

<p>They're not "rumors," per se, but rather someone started a petition for Netflix to pick up the series, hence the speculation of if it could happen and what it would be like.  As far as I know, there is no evidence to suggest that Netflix even has Avatar on their radar.  Who knows?  Time will tell.   </p><p>But, yeah.  No need for another avatar, just tell more stories with awesome bending.   </p>

<p>That's right!  I forgot about Unalaq.  Maybe we can pin the blame on him wanting to distance himself from the Red Lotis by punishing them the harshest.  It would fit his sadistic character.   </p><p>But at the same time, there's no way Unalaq had total control over their fates.  Little ol' Katara, like it or not, must have had some influence on how they were treated.  Political pressure wasn't an issue because (first off, Katara and Zuko have the integrety not to simply bow to the masses on an issue like this) the whole this was kept secret.  Not even Desna and Eska knew about it until months after they took power.  KORRA didn't even know until she was, what, 17?!  My point is, there's a limited number of people who had their hand in the Red Lotus prison design, so there are only a few heads on which the blame can fall.  I can easily see Katara's intention of mercy being pushed aside for Zuko and Unalaq's desire for strength in the face of hardship.   </p><p>PS: I'm not including Sokka because we're not exactly sure when he, as Desna would say, expired.   </p><p>(Though if he died in the conflict with the Red Lotis, that would explain things a little more.) </p>

<p>Eeeehhh... </p><p>Ok, so it does seem a little out of character.  But for the sake of argument, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko couldn't have been involved in every part of the prison-building process.  Or  -- how about this -- when the red lotus were captured, each prisoner was probably delageted to members of the Gaang.  Katara could have handled Ghazan, explaining why his prison at least appeared to be the most pleasant.  Zuko, on the other hand, could have been assigned Ming-Hua.  Zuko, as we know, can sometimes be very harsh and unforgiving.   </p><p>For example:  Imagine a Zuko hardened by the stresses of ruling and rebranding an entire country -- still haunted by the death of his best friend -- who just took down some very powerful criminals trying to kidnap baby Korra, in whom Zuko probably can only see Aang.  I could very easily see Zuko saying "I'm gonna throw you into a volcano."  Katara, of course, would stay his hand saying "What Would Aang Do?"  so Zuko did the next "best" thing.   </p>

<p>There's just a lot of people who want it.  As for it happenning, who knows?  I'd watch. </p>

<p>Even if Korra were to die, the series would end with, like, a baby crying or somehing to show that the Avatar cycle continues, even though the series is over.   </p>

<p>Never forget that the URN does not always follow the rules of the US of A.  Just because the US have a four year election cycle, doesn't mean that the URN does as well.   </p>

<p>Well, Wan was able to bend the elements without Raava in him, albeit not at Avatar levels.  Since Wan and Korra are the same spirit, they should have the same abilities.  Plus, there's no reason that Tenzin should assume that Korra was unable to bend her way up to the tree herself.   </p><p>So Raava facilitated the Avatar gaining all the bending abilities, but doesn't hold the abilities for them.  Likewise, no other bender (save Unavatu) posesses a spirit in them that allowes them to bend.   </p>

<p>Don't forget that all the spirit vine samples blew up.  She'll need more and those come exclusively from Republic City.   </p>

...unless he's already escaped and we just don't know yet.

<p>I was incredibly dissapointed in Korra during the fight.  I didn't see her as particularly weak, but it was absurd that Korra was the one attacking when she should have been defending.  Korra had the good position of only having to keep Kuvira from advancing, yet she charged in without using an ounce of neutral jing.   </p>

<p>Yeah, there's no way that she would just up and betray Varrick like that.  I bet Varrick knows it, too.  Though I'm not too sure about Zhu Li sabotaging Kuvira, she's definitely planning an escape.   </p>

<p>"Zhu Li, get those other ideas to research and development.  I want prototypes by next week!" </p>

<p>Suppose it's the opposite, and she's trying to remove bending from all people.  True, it's Amon all over again, but maybe Kuvira was an equalist supporter, despite having bending herself.  Perhaps she supported the principle?  That could be a way to tie in the first book to the finale.   </p>
