Okay the fact that Avatar Roku told Fang to get out of there and Fang came back and wrapped himself around Roku to protect him in his final moment is the most heartbreaking thing and no one ever talks about it.

This animals are the animals that has been at the avatar's side wherever the avatar is well... not really but they have a strong connection that it's unbreakable even in the spirit world

I belief there are multiple species of dragons in the world of avatar as we see the dragons of Roku and Sozin:
Who's heads are more different then those from Ran and Shaw:

So that dragon in the movie who was talking to aang thats actually Fang roku's dragon
The dragons that Aang and Zuko met as well as Roku's dragon Fang, have differently shaped snouts than Sozin's dragon. Are there different species of Dragon or is it just an error?

<p>Essentially, during the airing of A:TLA, it was an accepted theory that upon death, the spirits of the avatar would reside in the spirit world, this being the case, Fang's appearance as a spirit sort of makes sense as he shared a strong bond with Roku and died together with him.
</p><p>However, the accepted theory today is that the spirits of the past avatars never actually existed as separate spirits in spirit world upon death and were only ever seen in the spirit world as a manifestation of that avatar communicating with the current avatar.
</p><p>That being said, how can Fang exist as a spirit? Past avatars are connected by the avatar spirit, hence they can be encountered by the avatar in the spirit world, Fang however, does not have the avatar spirit and should not have been encountered as a spirit.
</p><p>Just a thought that ran across my mind, hopefully you all understand where I am coming from. Any insight is welcome.

<p>I know that in some Asian stories dragons have wings (and other features) at various times in their lives. So, I was wondering if the avatar world only has one type of dragon and the apparent differences (like Ran and Shaw's size) are a result of age or maturity.
