Remember What Happened In The Final Fight in the Book 2 Finale?

I've been thinking about That Fight for a while now, and there is something about it that I want to get off my chest.

That Fight only had Aang and Katara

Sokka and Toph were elsewhere

You all remember how Zuko's Betrayal really led to Aang being Shot by Lightning and Ba Sing Se's Downfall

But could That all have been avoided? If Toph was there?

Toph and Sokka Were definitely Free From the being imprisoned Shortly After Zuko's Betrayal, if Toph had made it back to the Crystal Caves in time to Fight Both Azula and Zuko as well as the Dai Li When they Showed up Would That have made a difference?

Would Toph being there change the outcome of The Final Where Aang is Shot?

Been Wanting to Hear Peoples thoughts on this.

Expanding Ba Sing Se Underground

In the series, we've seen that the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se is overpopulated and poor. In the recent excerpt of The Shadow of Kyoshi, we see that this was evident even in Kyoshi's time (centuries before the Hundred Year War). Over time, this overpopulation and overcrowding has become far worse. So, how to fix this? The Lower Ring can't spread further out because of the walls, and removing the walls to allow this would both weaken the city's defenses and reduce the amount of land in the Agricultural Zone. Typically, when cities can't expand outwards, they expand upwards. When Korra visited the city we saw several 2 or 3 story buildings throughout the Lower Ring. However, this doesn't seem to have alleviated the overcrowding. Remember, the Lower Ring is mainly comprised of farmers, artisans, and general laborers. When building high-rises, building higher and higher drives up building and maintenance costs. This results in higher rent. So, high rises in the Lower Ring couldn't be built up too high or the residents (who are the poorest among the three rings) couldn't afford to live in them. So, the Lower Ring can't spread outwards, and it can't rise upwards too high. So, that just leaves one direction: downwards. Remember, Ba Sing Se started out as a subterranean city beneath the Upper Ring. Also, in LOK Book 3 episode 4 Jinora states that there ancient sewers beneath the Lower Rings and "a maze of tunnels that connects all the rings." This suggests there are numerous subterranean spaces all throughout the city. In our world, several metropolitan cities have built underground tunnels that connects different parts of the city with walkways and trains (subways). So, if these were built using the tunnels that already connected the rings. it would allow for much faster transportation throughout the city that would be accessible for more residents. Also, a few cities in the world have underground residential housing. So, modern housing and infrastructure could be built in the cities subterranean spaces for its excess population.
