I hope we get to see the new Avatar use lightning. It's one of the subskills of bending that we've never known an Avatar to use. Also, I'm just a shill for all things firebending.

I’ve been waiting for a lightningbending Avatar for soooo long

Lmcarth, god yes! Have the new Avatar use lightning to power up some lost technology or otherwise put it to some very creative use. Personally, my favorite use of lightning each of the series comes down these two scenes:

1. Zuko redirecting Ozai's lightning back at him in the bunker's throne room.

2. Mako using lightning to overload and destroy the Spirit Vine fuel system for Kuvira's giant mech.

An honorable mention being how Mako managed to generate enough lightning to screw over Amon while being bloodbent by the most powerful bloodbender in the whole franchise.

Mako may not be a firebending master, but he is without a doubt a lightning virtuoso.

I think Flight would also be a useful skill to have

Now I know what you're thinking Flight might be too difficult or outright impossible to unlock but I've found some new information on the wiki that might change that

You see apparently attachments are desires for things people believe will bring them happiness

That they have nothing to do with love

It's mainly romantic relationships with attachments that are regarded as unhealthy because they involve codependency,possessiveness, and delusion

I noticed Zaheer seemed to be real dependent on P'li and vice versa when she died he let go of his dependency on her and unlocked Flight
