With this upheaval of new korra hatred I would like to voice my counters to some of the most popular criticisms of her character specifically.
Korra is arrogant, annoying and hot headed
Korra has never once shown arrogant(literally) Annoyance is subjective and personally I have only ever found her annoying in book 2 episode 1&2. Katara and zuko are also hot headed, go get on their heads about it.
Korra severed her connection to past lives
(I really don't know how people can continue to say this unironically) She really didn't. yes her actions led to this happening, but this was not something she did herself nor anything she caused directly. Unalaq ripped her soul out and she couldn't do anything to stop it. thats like saying aang almost killed the avatar spirit when he was struck by azula.
She's a bad avatar
Not only is korra one of the best and most devoted, she has something that only wan has. Korra never once did anything to be self serving that would detriment her job. Korra has only ever tried to be a better avatar, literally go look. in addition to her accomplishments, she has changed the world more in 4 years than most avatars have done in their entire lives, in fact more than any other avatar combined.
Korra gets beaten all the time
1) no she doesn't I went through, she wins just over 50% of the time. 2) her villains are all very skilled/powerful in their own right 3) she never never ONCE lost a fair fight. literally go check, any time she loses she is either nerfed or at a clear disadvantage.
Korra never listens
When... literally when? Korra almost always listens to her mentors, even if the mentors themselves are in conflict, she listens to at least one of them. she takes and asks for advice. remember when there was a whole episode of aang refusing advice from his mentors?
