Ming hua is faster, more agile and would be very hard for katara to touch. she is also a better fighter and has more experience.

Katara has the power and skill but ming hua just trumps her.

Kya in her old age should be relative to young katara and even she had trouble with ming hua.

I'm so shocked the majority went against a fan favorite, I respect it.

Are we including Bloodbending? I chose Katara as S3 Katara did have access to bloodbending (and it seems she was quite proficient as well). Without, even with Katara being a great waterbender, the location along with Ming Hua's use of utility would definitely secure a win for Ming Hua.

I think Ming Hua could still beat Katara with her bloodbending, and Katara wouldn’t use her bloodbending

@Aeriux katara couldn't and wouldn't use her bloodbending. she would have to be under a full moon.

@Bastion2.0 Even if she did, she isn’t all that a pro, used it a couple times, so it could be easier to break free and even then, Ming-Hua doesn’t have actual arms to control, instead she just has water tentacles, which wouldn’t be controlled w bloodbending. Isn’t it safe to say she could still grab katara and throw her?

I would imagine Katara trying to defend, realising that doesn't work against other Waterbenders and then taking an icicle to the stomach. Katara gets too much credit.

@Hybrid Monster Army Agreed, Kya likely adapted a similar fighting maybe more defensive fighting style cause she clearly can fight and def learned from her mom, using water to make unique shapes of water, but ultimately, even the classic redirecting tactic only fueled Ming Hua and literally made her USE the water and redirecting it. The same would def happen to katara even if she lasted longer, Ming Hua’s agility can be compared to Ty Lee, who had katara running and unable to even attack at ba sing se undercover

Ming Hua's agility is far greater than Ty Lee. She doesn't have to jump.
