About Azula's Redemption and whether or not that relates to the spirit temple comic. I want to point this out, I wasn't going to, but I am now. That comic has several similarities to Avatar: Macai's Journey and Avatar: Lingering Tensions hence why, I think it will happen.
One of Azula's quotes in Spirit Temple is almost identical to one of her first quotes in AMJ. The war-based scenery of the spirit temple story gives the vibes of a small-scale internal civil war which is the same thing that happens in Lingering Tensions and the later stages of AMJ.
"I am Azula of the Fire Nation, daughter of Ozai, and future Fire Lord."-AMJ Version
"I am Azula, daughter of Ozai the Phoenix King, and the rightful heir to the throne."-Spirit Temple version
If you remember what the spirit says to Azula in Spirit Temple, it highlights that Azula is shunning the "ones that love" her. The emphasis is on Zuko, Ursa, Iroh, Ty Lee, and Mai. Here is a quote Azula makes in AMJ chapter 70 during her redemption.
"I've spent a lot of time being alone and rethinking my life. I finally had a chance to grow and reconnect with the people who love me. I know that I will never be able to undo the damage that I've caused. You have no idea how I'm tormented by my past. But if I have you by my side, then I know things will be a little less painful. I could never live with myself without trying to get you back."
The spirit does not have to be 100 percent accurate in saying that is Azula's last chance to redeem herself. Spirits are not always right, and that spirit isn't all-knowing.
