@Integer115 Raava is the spirit of peace. Vaatu is the spirit of chaos. They are called opposites by the air people on the Lion turtle. Thus in the Avatarverse, peace is the opposite of chaos.

They did not confirm that recently. In an interview held on this site during LOK season 4’s release, someone asked about where is Vaatu and all that. They said that he is in Raava (and thus in the Avatar), and that in the future Vaatu will probably have an influence on the Avatar.

The eras of Yangchen and Kyoshi (though only about 100-ish years apart) have very different new technologies and societies. To our knowledge, no big stagnation occurred. 3) The industrialization of the Fire Nation happened during the era of Roku. After the Fire Lords started to centralize power in the era of Kyoshi, the Fire Nation was able to advance and industrialize at a rapid pace. This was due to the efficiency of centralized leadership and the usage of the easy to obtain and use fuel source, aka coal. During the 100 year war, this industrialization continues. It’s not something that happened because the Avatar went missing. It just continued without them. And when Aang did come back, it continued, just now the technology was not towards war.
