Many people call Amon one of the best villains, but I am not so sure. His biggest problem is that his backstory came completely out of nowhere. There was borderline no foreshadowing for it. Also, his philosophy is contradictory. He says he wants equality, but he is just oppressing the benders, and just takes all power for himself by eliminating anyone in his way, even his own followers. All of this is not “equal”. However, I did like how he tried not to be like his father, but just ended up being like his father in the end. In short, Amon is still a fine villain, but he is definitely overrated, and doesn’t compare to villains like Zaheer and Kuvira.
