That's arguably true with most people. His scar doesn't help and his ponytail hairdo just didn't look good. If you give anyone a ridiculous haircut, they can look "ugly". I don't care who it is. A supermodel, doesn't matter. Give a guy a tree stump haircut and he'll look silly. Shave the middle of a woman's hair and leave the rest I doubt anyone will rock it.

I feel like he was uglier back when he was with the Fire Nation and had that ponytail. Once he let his hair grow out and wasn't scowling all the time, he actually looked decent, even handsome at times.
