If Aang was hoping for Bumi to be an airbender, but he didn't, then why didn't Aang use energybending to give Bumi airbending?
If Aang was hoping for Bumi to be an airbender, but he didn't, then why didn't Aang use energybending to give Bumi airbending?
There's plenty of reasons:
- Energy bending is really dangerous.
- Bumi just never asked or declined if Aang had brought it up.
- Aang may have figured that as Bumi is over 100 years old, he wouldn't have enough time left to learn airbending.
- The lion turtle only taught Aang chi blocking.
Tbh, wouldnt that kind of be offensive? Thats kind of telling Bumi that hes not good enough if he doesnt have power.
@Bahr2006 I think this is referring to Aang’s else’s son the nonbender, not King Bumi of Omashu 😅.
^^^ The lion turtle taught him chi blocking?
@Aang on a sec Oh. I get it now. Regardless, I did have good points.
@TophPaw Aang learned about energy bending from the lion turtle. In simpler terms, Aang may have only ever figured out how to block and unblock chi, not manipulate it so someone can bend an element they weren't able to before.
Oh I get it Energybending is dangerous and Aang might die from that.
Yes. I'm glad we understand each other.
Besides, Bumi did learn airbending eventually, albeit in his sixties.
You can't force a person to learn something faster than they're able to. That's how Kai the Collector died in Kung Fu Panda 3.
Bumi probably did not want it
What do you think?
