Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are not anime because Avatar is a mix of Western and Japanese style so it can’t be considered as an anime.

Atla shouldn't be watched if ur not interested in it. Like i tried rewatching it was cringe. At that point I was less interested in avatar as a whole.

Just say ok and let him decide to watch it on his own with an open mind.

Forcing people to watch something makes them want to watch it less.

A better solution would be to ask what it is about it being an anime that would make them not want to watch it, and then address those points more directly. ATLA is for sure anime inspired, but that doesn't make it like every other anime. if there is something about anime in general they don't like, explain why ATLA isn't like that.

Or just recommend it and move on. Nagging them would make it a duty, not a choice. Let them find it themself.

You should explain them the different reasons why it's not an anime but in the end you still can't force them to watch it.
