Yes. And in those next 2 seasons, he has grown to be a better person. Just like Zuko. Sokka started out as a sexist and I didn't like how he handled the situation about the Kyoshi warriors in the 4th episode. However, he grew. Just like how Aang acted childish when Sokka and Katara met Bato. He grew. I don't understand how you dislike Mako when other characters are in the exact same predicament but you refuse to dislike them.

@Domnguyen30 Exactly what I think, I thought Mako was very popular! He was sacrificial, powerful, and he definitely grew. I think he was always the adult in Team Avatar along with Asami, and Bolin and Korra started out more like Sokka and Aang than like Katara. Nevertheless, he did grow. And I just can't help crying when he says that he'll always follow Korra into battle no matter what happens and that he'll always love her. He's so very brave.

@Domnguyen30 Exactly! Plus, he even explains why he did that. He didn't wanted to disappoint Korra again, that too just before Korra was going to face Vaatu. It provided Korra comfort when she needed. He also said that a part of him wanted to forget about the breakup too.
