Yakone may have been trapped in earth but he's also a psychic bloodbender meaning that Aang was still bendable up until yakone's bending was removed. We also know that Aang probably needed full concentration while he was energybending and couldn't afford to be going into the avatar state in the middle of it and that he may not have known how long it would take because it could vary depending on the person (ozai's took very long but yakone's was very short) however, when he was simply talking to yakone 1: yakone was too shocked to start bloodbending Aang again 2: even if he did Aang could just hop back into the avatar state and there would be no problem.

If Yakone didn't need to move to kill Aang, then he would have done that. Yakone still needs to move his limbs to knock out or kill a human. Like you said, Yakone is too shocked to try to bloodbend Aang again.

Aang does go into the Avatar State in the energybending position. It is portrayed as a brief flash in his eyes and tattoos - the same as any other use of a momentary Avatar State. Avatars regularly use the brief flash to increase power to their own bending moves. In this specific case, the same could apply to bending a resistant energy or a large amount of energy. The notion that he couldn't concentrate enough to go into the State while he bends energy does not hold up.

When Korra restores people's bending, she goes into the Avatar State, right? However, we know Korra's spirit has to be used in energybending. So, she's consciously going into the State and energybending at the same time. Surely Aang would be able to do the same.
