ALL POSTSToph's Seismic Sense
<p>In Toph’s page it states that she used seismic sense(earthbending) to see the world through the banyan-grove tree. Similar to the way she can see people with the vibrations in the ground. Is this the general concusses? I always thought the tree was connected to all life and she can use a little spirit sense to see the world in a way similar way the avatar can. Would love some insight!

I don't think it was her seismic sense that allowed her to see the world in the foggy swamp. In fact I don't even think it's possible for that to happen. The range of her seismic sense definitely can't span an entire continent.

<p>I don't know about you, but I don't think Toph managing to sense Zaofu and Republic City via seismic sense. The vines somehow had a similar effect on her senses.

<p>I think, at best, it would have to be some sort of combination of her seismic sensing and some spiritual mumbo jumbo that Aang used in the swamp episode. If it was seismic sensing alone, why would she need the spirit vines? They're mostly water, it would probalby be easier for her to "see" directly through the ground.
