ALL POSTSWhat Other "Lost Civilizations" Exist?
<p>Idk if this has been talked about before, but I recently rewatched "The Library" and Zei mentions how he's discovered numerous lost civilizations, which got me thinking. I'm curious as to what civilizations he could've found. Even though we'll probably never know, I had some interesting theories.
</p><p>1) I wonder if there could've been a tropical tribe of waterbenders located near the Fire Nation as it is a tropical place. We never really see a rainforest in either of the shows and it would be cool to see exist. The waterbenders I imagine would've been a group of people that aimed to sail to the South Pole in hopes of leaving the NWT much like Gran Gran, but instead, they would've been led off track and discovered a small chain of (or just one) islands. They could maybe also further the skill of plantbending by developing the skill of woodbending as the rainforest is abundant with moisture and trees. I feel like their culture would be based on Polynesia and/or Southeast Asia
</p><p>2) I was reading on one of the other thread about Guru Pathik and it was discussed how he could've belonged to a lost civilization of Air Nomads that was based on India and South Asia. Contrary to normal Air Nomads, these people would not all be benders but would still practice spiritual techniques and be able to meditate into the spirit world and such. They could be located somewhere in the Earth Kingdom, as it was very vast and hosted a variety of cultures. For their environment, I think it could either be a grassland similar to where Yangchen bent the big breeze that one time, or simply another mountain range. As for what their status was during the HYW, I feel like there would be very few of them and they would be at about the same numbers as the Sun Civilization.
</p><p>So that's what I could come up with. Any thoughts on my ideas or ideas you had that you would like to share?

<p>Those aren't really true igneous rocks - Pumice is made of volcanic dust forming something more like a poorly cement sedimentary rock, breaking up if improperly handled and obsidian isn't even techniquely a rock (made of glass not crystals). Rhyolite and Basalt is what would usually form when lavabenders cool their lava, and those can serve as effective building materials. I think if a Lava bending tribe existed, they'ld live on or near a very active volcano, using their power to protect their homes and fields. Probably suffered losses during the early days hundred years that nearly destoryed the culture, as fire benders invaded their territory to claim it's sacred volcano for themselves. </p><p>

<p>I didn't dispute that certain forms of igneous rock could be used for building materials, but I also don't know that they're somehow "superior" to other forms of rock. Like I said, I haven't really had much time to look up detailed information on igneous rock.
</p><p>Though I can't find any source that says those aren't examples of it. Wikipedia, Encyclopedia Britannica, Indiana.edu, Geology.com, & some place called Sandatlas certainly seem to think they are.

<p>Yes, but I'm saying there are important differences in the way that rock wall was formed other than the type of rock it was made of. </p>
