<p>Now that the Tribes are independent, the North is a monarchy while the South is a rule by a chief elected by the elders.
</p><p>Presumably Tonraq serves until either he steps down or the elders choose someone else.
</p><p>From what I can tell, a princess is officially defined as a female member of a monarchic family who does not have another title, not necessarily the daughter of the monarch, so since Desna & Eska still consider Korra to be part of the family, I suppose she would still be a princess.
</p><p>However, there's no reason that should make her wealthy, because Unalaq's estate is still in the hands of his children & their mother if she's still alive.
</p><p>I'm sure Tonraq must be paid decently to be Chief, but probably just enough to comfortably live on. The South in general is portrayed as having a smaller wealth gap between social classes than the other surviving nations.
