<p>Mako was a beat cop at the start of Book 2, made detective at the end, & then his status was never mentioned again. He was assigned to guard Prince Wu, but I don't think that's really in the job description for a detective.
</p><p>It's hard for me to see Bolin as a detective, investigation was never really his signature skill, but maybe he'll pick some things up. Personally, I'd think he'd be much better as something like a SWAT officer. His aim would make him great for lobbing pebbles as riot suppression, & for really big problems, his lavabending would make his team nigh impossible to approach & of course it's serious firepower.
</p><p>Seeing the Earth Kingdom & Fire Nation would be nice, but I think that's a ways off.

<p>The problem I have with the triads is that they never were a threat. Korra wrecked them in the first episode of LoK, Asami and Mako destroyed the three leaders in Book 2, and Lightning Bolt Zolt lost his bending to Amon. Having the triads as the main villains seems really underwhelming, considering the level of the rest of the villains.
