<p>Ehh, seems a bit over-the-top, TBQH.  But I've seen the occasional time-travel plot that <i>works</i>, so I certainly wouldn't just blow such a thing off sight unseen.

<p>I agree on Bolin. </p><p>I think the Avatar has generally had to be athletic to some degree in order to master the bending arts to the level that s/he does, but seeing different body types would be nice. </p><p>It might also be that in a more modern era, being able to control bending on a more minute level might be more valued than it has been in the past. </p>

Why not have the next Avatar be of average build?

What character is being repeatedly and virulently hated on in this thread? Other than my own character, I mean. </p>

I thought that was apparent. </p><p>As to the wiki's fact sourcing, Deist Zealot commented on the supposed lack of plausibility and corroboration of the post. I responded by pointing out a similar case in which relevant claims were taken at face value. I don't think that's so random. </p>

<p>When I think of an Earth Kingdom Avatar, I think of ordinary people like the Foaming Mouth Guy from Kyoshi Island or Pong from Ba Sing Se, as they're pretty average. </p>

<p>Huh... wonder what would happen if the next Avatar found out he was the Avatar before any of the adults did? Basically, if the comic higher up did happen, but he asked Asami not to reveal his identity? (Not sure why that would happen, mind you, just thought about it with all the discussion of average-looking people and thought it might make an interesting twist to the traditional "Surprise! You're the Avatar!" scene) </p>
