<p>I can't make you read what I posted, but there really isn't a point in acting like you're "correcting" me when you clearly didn't even read it. Mike & Bryan are quoted multiple times as saying that bending has a genetic basis, as in according to the interviewer they literally used the word "genetic." I also cite my source in that post. </p><p>Oh, also, traits can skip generations & we don't have detailed enough information on most characters to know for sure that they don't have bender relatives. Indeed, given Mike's & Bryan's comments, we can actually rule what you said out, with the exception of the original human benders & possibly those given airbending by Harmonic Convergence. </p>

<p>They've also said in other interviews and comic-cons things that support my statement about bending. But like I said, this conversation has no point anymore since this thread has already reached a conclusion. If you want to continue arguing, fine. But you'll have to argue with someone else then. Because I've already told you the source of bending and you don't want to believe it and it's obvious you're not going to. So goodbye. </p>

I think that non-benders parents can have kids who can do bending. Because it was stated in an original draft by the creators. (They had written stuffs on it such as the animals in Avatar universe will be a mix of two animals from Real Universe. ). You better search for it and you will know. </p><p>it is likely Kiyi might attain bending but given that her spiritual connection is weaker it is also highly likely she may not. </p>

<p>You don't even have to go any further than ATLA Book 1 to see that two non-benders can produce a bender: KATARA. Both parents are nonbenders, she's a waterbender.  </p>
