<p>What I'd do is launch a hail of them. Any darts that hit her tendril are likely to give up all of their charge anyway, so it'll need to be broken through first before P'Li could be effectively paralyzed. Then Ming-Hua faces the decision of trying to counter them or allowing P'Li to be struck. Or Mako could just stop being an ignoramus & shoot lightning at them. </p>

<p>And, as usual, we see the common Makorra holdout clinging grimly to Book 1 and parts of Book 2, downplaying Asami's role and otherwise snubbing her, and exaggerating Mako's role and framing him as somehow <i>entitled</i>.  (Again: I doubt that they'd be crying "character derailment" at Korra going off to the Spirit World if it'd been with <i>Mako</i> instead of Asami.  And, again: it seems rather telling that they don't bother to go into what <i>Korra</i> might have to say about any of this.) </p><p>So, all-in-all?  The words beginning with "D" that <i>actually</i> apply here are <i>denial</i> and <i>desperation</i>. </p><p>Oh: and...<i>Maggie being Maggie</i>.  I don't really 'ship anything in Voltron (and if the given age for Shiro is <i>accurate</i>, and Allura actually <i>is</i> a teenager, the vaguely 'shippy dynamic between them actually kinda bugs me) except possibly Keith/Lance and Hunk/Shay; but Maggie has decided that Keith/Allura is the second coming of Makorra (and, consequently, loves it beyond all reason).  Which, petty though it may be, has given me a mild aversion to the pairing. </p><p>(The other comparison she made was to Zutara.  I'm not <i>quite</i> mean and petty enough to say something along the lines of that what Makorra and Zutara have in common is "assertive waterbender girl, mopey firebender boy, and <i>sunk like anchors</i>," but rest assured that I'm sorely tempted.) </p>

<p>I think we can all agree that Asami could use a kickass long ranged weapon of some kind and she could modify it to suit her own fighting style. </p><p>As for all the supposed "3Ds" nonsense that Deist Zealot quoted from that Makorra holdout....yeah, whoever said all of that completely ignored mentioning <i>anything</i> that went down in book 3 regarding Korrasami, and how the 3 years apart from one another did nothing to break their bond. Korra does explicitly say that she tried to write to <i>ASAMI</i> <strike>not Mako</strike> <i>multiple times</i> but just didn't know what to say, indicating that Korra desired a connection with Asami the most <i>long</i> before she mustered up the will to send that one letter. They focus so much on the whole "she only sent one letter" that they selectively ignore the content of said letter. </p><p>What's funny is that the majority of Foxie and her inner circle were all for Korrasami when there wasn't any definite indication that the ship would end up sinking Makorra. Mako isn't entitled to Korra. Hell, HE doesn't even think he's entitled to her at all. And it's not like he'll be lonely and pining for Korra for the rest of his days (nor do I think the finale was indicating that with his final moment with her either). </p><p>Korra and Mako both said that they'd always love each other (and I believe that they always will) but they've both long accepted the fact that they weren't compatible in a romantic relatinship (and I think the Makorra holdouts need to follow their ship's example on that). Korra has moved on with Asami and despite what the Makorra holdouts keep saying, they're BOTH happy with each other, and when (not if) Mako finds his true love (which I'm actually hoping for in the comic books so some of these "Makorra vs Korrasami" arguments can die) he (just like Korra now with Asami) will understand what "real" love truly is and will be happy with whoever it ends up being. </p>

Exactly. They keep crying foul about Korrasami because "Korra has no agency in their relationship" but completely ignore the fact that their belief in Mako somehow being entitled to Korra doesn't leave any room for her to have any agency either. Hypocritical/double standard much? It IS possible for people to move on from a failed romance and still be good friends with one another. And Bryke did say in the DVD commentaries for "Beyond the Wilds" that the bond between Korra and Mako was more of a "colleague" sort of dynamic now. Like they used to date but that was "a long time ago" and now it's like "oh, you guys used to date?" or something like that. I'm paraphrasing but either way, the point is that the two of them accepted the fact that they would never work out in a romantic sense a long time ago. </p><p>That's an interesting headcanon for the Fire Nation Princess. If she's half as deadpan as Lulu then she'll definitely shoot down any of Mako's nonsense if they end up dating and he starts falling back on his dithering ways. I have this headcanon that she looks just like Azula but took after her grandfather Lord Zuko (nice and willing to help others for the most part just like Iroh II). </p>

<p>John C Wright is a more "respectable" conservative author, which means he's really no different than those wankers but he gets paid for some reason. He had a similarly stupid meltdown over the 5th Edition D&D rules, which he called "Dungeons & Perverts." Yeah, for a writer, his wordplay is not very--what's the word--good. </p><p>In response to the D&D one, he was accused of feigning attachment to a game he really didn't know shit about so he could spin some "you betrayed me with your gay pandering!" nonsense. I'm feeling that same vibe here, since he apparently didn't notice that this show is liberal as all Hell. Either that or he's a level of stupid I've never seen before. </p>

The LOK thing is a bit surprising to me, though; his arguments, while I don't always agree with them, are usually well-thought and admittedly persuasive to a degree. In comparison, his condemnation of Korra and Bryke just sounds like....whining at best and overdramatic exaggeration at worst. Not to mention how pretentious it is; he claims to speak for the entire fandom, when as we all know Korrasami has just as many supporters as haters and even claims anyone who isn't upset about it isn't a true fan. Well, i guess i'm not a "true" fan in his eyes nor are most of the people on this wiki. If he was upset, then fine, be upset but don't assume everybody feels the same way as you or demean the ones who don't. The familiar cries of pandering and political correctness and the fact that he seems to think Mako not ending up with Korra or Asumi is somehow related to Korrasami just makes it sadder. Then again, he did delete the whole thing, so maybe he realized he was being petty. </p>
