<p>In 60 years (if Korra lives an average human life), the next Avatar should be nearing birth, or Korra should be entering her ending ages. What will the world be like then? If you think about it Legend of Korra is around our equivlent of 1930 A.D., which means it will be around 1990. Do you think they will go through with it?

Do to thier size and all of the complex parts that give them full articulation of thier limbs. This also holds true for armor as you cant armor the mechs to much without sacrificing that mobility and movement of the limbs. Compared to tanks they would be classified as light-meduim armored vehicles. The hieght of the mechs also causes problems, they can be knocked over with enough force, and they cant hide as well as a normal tank behind hills, small structures, or foilage. they would be much easier to spot and shot at over long distances.Â

<p>The Mk. II is already more useful than that, but as Berserkar indicated, wearing a mech suit is not always a practical option. Hence I noted that handheld versions of the Mk. II's weapons can be made very easily.

<p>If they had done space expedition and found an alien empire that is in a stage that was just expanding
</p><p>their empire on their own planet. Will the Humans lay a conquest on them? And will the Avatar let them?

<p>Im pretty sure the Avatar wouldn't let Humanity conquer another extraterrestrial species, not to mention the warfare is extremely expensive the longer time goes on. Considering space travel takes so long it would be very difficult to fund, reinforce, and communicate with some type of invasion force on another planet without star trek/halo levels of technology </p><p>Trade with said alien race most likely, conquer them? No, unless humanity can easily cover the costs, and communicate/travel to and from said planet quickly. </p>

<p>The Avatar is essentially the personification of the world. He/she can bend all four elements (of which the entire world is made of), and is able to communicate with the spirits who share the world with humans. Anything that happens outside of the planet is outside the Avatar's jurisdiction, so to speak. If it were, then Aang would have been able to do something about Sozin's Comet. He couldn't because it was not of this world. It can be argued that the Avatar and other benders can manipulate space-borne objects (such as Toph's use of a meteor bracelet), but those objects become a part of the planet once they leave space. It may be interesting to see the descendants of our favorite characters go into space, but the new Avatar (especially an earthbending one) wouldn't have much influence there.
