</p><p>I'm not sure if anyone's covered this topic, but I was just rewatching Korra in its entirety and I think I may have worked out the identity of Kuvira's mother.
</p><p>Given her whole insanity thing, being abandoned as a child, megalomanic tendencies, and the way she never gives up, my theory is that her mother was Azula.

<p>Again: the <i>only</i> people claiming that P'Li was Kuvira's mother are fan theorists. It's unlikely; in fact, my previous post in this thread was about exactly how unlikely that is (read: only <i>slightly</i> less so than her—or, for that matter, Opal, who's also ended up at the epicenter of <i>this</i> fanwank—being the result of some fling between <i>Suyin</i> and Zaheer). We have no idea whose brat Kuvira is.

Personally I don't think this is actually the case as it feels implied to me that Kuvira's parents were not earthbenders as they couldn't control her outbursts (which involved earthbending). But I still think it was interesting to point out the resemblance. </p><p>Also the ages of the two individuals would make it a bit of a stretch but not outside the realm of possibility. </p>
