ALL POSTSIs anyone else disappointed that we never saw the Fire Nation in LOK?
<p>This is something that's been bugging me ever since the show ended. Not once do we see the Fire Nation, even though we explore the Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom. What's up with that? Surely the Fire Nation would've been interesting to explore! It's been over 70 years in the Avatar world for crying out loud! I imagine the Fire Nation would be different after 70 years. Is there seriously nothing that the creators considered worthy of exploring in the Fire Nation?

<p>In Book 2, that was likely one of the outlying islands; not only did we not get much of a look at it, but it didn't give us much of an idea as what was happening in the heart of the nation. As for Book 4, I was under the impression that Korra was primarily—if not exclusively—wandering the Earth Kingdom.

I guess they just couldn't find and aesthetic that worked well for BOTH Republic City and The Fire Nation. Without compromising the fire nations original designs.

<p>Ehh. If a story arc isn't set <i>in</i> Republic City, I don't see as to how Republic City's aesthetic has much to do with it.

<p>The fire nation was the most technologically advanced nation in the world, but also one of the most traditional. The design would have to reconcile both.

I think a proper aesthetic for the Fire Nation could have been found if the work had been put into doing it.

<p>I think the third season, "Change", would have been the most appropriate time to revisit the Fire Nation. Clearly Zuko has some history with the Red Lotus, so I believe the writers could have worked the Fire Nation into that story arc. Even if we were only shown flashbacks of a confrontation between the Red Lotus and the Fire Lord or her soldiers, it would still have been gratifying.

<p>Maybe in the Korra comics, they will explore the Fire Nation more and we'll see how they've been doing since the War.

You know, I'd like to make a joke; the real reason my idea for the next Avatar is from the Fire Nation, not the EK, is revenge for the Earth Empire stealing The Fire Nation's story in Book 4.

<p>You know what the worst thing is? That the creators actually planned to have Izumi and the Fire Nation more central in season 4, and Mako was going to fall in love with Izumi's daughter. But then they scrapped it all.
