Ran and Shaw were ancient Dragons that's why they were so big. The sunstone that Zuko picked up and said felt alive was indeed an egg foreshadowing. Keep in mind that Druk is 18 years old in LOK and it has been 70 years. Ran and Shaw could be his parents if Dragons have ultra life spans(Ran and Shaw were said to be ancient) and Druk is just one of there many children, or Druk is a grandchild? I still don't know if dragon eggs contain multiple small babies or if they only contain one. Either way Zuko had to be given Druk as a gift from the Sun warriors. Druk and Korra are the same age too.

I would assume that old age was the reason for Ran and Shaw's great size, but when was it mentioned that they are ancient?

Zuko and Aang's quotes about the sunstone sure make you think about a dragon egg, but the sunstone actually doesn't look like the only confirmed dragon egg from "Dragon Days" in "The Lost Adventures".

I personally think that dragon eggs only contain one dragon, since that seems to be most common in a lot of franchises.

Now regarding Druk being given to Zuko by the Sun warriors, I would say that there is a possibility that he received Druk directly from Druk's parents, because I am not sure that it is the Sun warriors who decide which person that is going to recieve a dragon egg, I mean they didn't decide who was worthy to learn the true meaning of firebending, it was Ran and Shaw who made that decision.

It was in the art book for the series and it says so on there wiki page too.

I noticed that it looked different too, I just thought maybe the eggs look diffrent because they are different species?

Yeah I like that idea, Dragons are intelligent so maybe he visited the civilization again or the dragons just plain out came to him when they felt it was safe.
